Do I need a credit card to start?
No โ the free plan needs nothing but an email address, and it never expires. You get one complete lesson every month, and the sample lesson and sample unit are open to everyone.
What counts as a lesson?
One full generation: illustrated slides with teacher notes, the differentiated activity sheet and the quiz. Lessons, unit plans and edits all draw on the one allowance โ a unit plan is worth roughly four lessons โ and your My Plan page always shows the honest total.
Is there a yearly plan?
Yes โ one payment covers the whole teaching year and saves about 28% on Pro or 35% on Max, with the entire allowance available from day one so you can plan units in the holidays. We deliberately don't sell a per-term plan: term dates and term lengths differ by state and by school, so any 'term' we billed would just be a fixed number of weeks from your signup date, which is not the term you actually teach.
How is this different from Chalkie and similar tools?
Others count 'resources' โ a deck of slides is one resource, a worksheet another. A TeachKoala lesson is the whole kit in one generation, with teacher notes a relief teacher could run from, verified Australian Curriculum codes (never invented), and real unit plans in the Queensland format โ not just a series of lessons.
Can my school pay for a group?
School plans (shared templates, unit planning, group billing) are on the way โ get in touch and we'll set your staffroom up early.
